Review – Cauleen Smith in Art in America

CHICAGO – The group exhibition ‘Revolution Under Review’ was reviewed by Vera Koshkina.

Koshkina writes, “The importance of aspirational thinking in race and labor organizing is treated with no irony in this work. The artistic engagement with the commitment to social justice organizing presented in Smith’s piece invites us to question, and shed, our habitual distance from the emancipatory promise that lives in Soviet poster art.”
