Margot Bergman unveils a new group of startling paintings, most of them furthering her “collaborative” working process. Using thrift-store canvases by anonymous accomplices, Bergman augments the existing image, often drawing out a hidden face or figure. Some of the latest visages feature an uncanny double-face, both of which directly address the viewer. The show also includes recent paintings in her “Wonderland” series, which feature hot-pink rabbits and other creatures in mysterious narrative escapades.
