Llyn Foulkes Return Here, 1959 - 1976

In the East Wing, CvsD is proud to present Return Here, 1959-1976 , a small exhibition of paintings by Llyn Foulkes.  One of the most powerfully original and eccentric figures in American art, Foulkes was the subject of a major retrospective at the Hammer (LA) and the New Museum (NY) in 2013.  The title piece, one of three in the exhibition, comes from 1959, the year of Foulkes’ first show at the legendary Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles, and the other two are from the artist’s important “bloody heads” series of the 1970s.  A rare opportunity to see one of the oddball masters.
