In the East Wing, CvsD is proud to present new paintings by Jonathan Gardner. One of Chicago’s most promising young figures, Gardner was included in Big Youth, the gallery’s 2009 group show. His recent work takes an unexpected turn into trompe-l’oeil, featuring uncanny, highly detailed images of torn paper and household objects that obliquely suggest a human visage.
