Press Release

Opening reception: Saturday, September 12, 6-8 PM

In the East Wing, CvsD is pleased to announce the first American solo exhibition by Berlin-based artist Florian Baudrexel.  Intimate collages featuring images expropriated from magazines, assembled with a brilliant formal sensibility, they call to mind classic Modernist works by Kurt Schwitters, an impression slightly destabilized by the fact that they are window-mounted in white styrofoam backgrounds, adding a strange elegance and pop culture point of reference.  Baudrexel’s recent exhibitions include Kunstverein Hamburg, Hamburg; Linn Lühn, Düsseldorf; Leopold-Hoelsch-Museum, Düren; and Lullin & Ferrari, Zürich.
