At Felix 2026, Corbett vs. Dempsey presents a selection of work by five distinct artists. New York based painter Gabrielle Garland offers a group of graphite portraits of houses, each one brimming with detail and stoked by distortions of perspective. Gina Litherland, whose home studio is in rural Wisconsin, contributes intimate etchings, each one steeped in a magic realist microcosm of the natural world. Chicago painter Celeste Rapone's two canvases pack the compositional juice of a huge image into a modestly scaled space, her skills of narration at full economical power. Legendary Chicago conceptual-sensual artist Tony Tasset's new monochromatic paintings are mistreated into great beauty, their surfaces sanded and distressed like designer jeans. And Molly Zuckerman-Hartung, a recent transplant to Los Angeles, introduces several fresh canvases, as always chock full of visual ideas. Hanging in close proximity, these artists attest to the possibilities residing in wild diversity, our embrace of a giddily heterogenous atmosphere.
