Ray Yoshida

Touch and Go (SAIC)

$35.00

This title was published on the occasion of the exhibition "Touch and Go: Ray Yoshida and his Spheres of Influence" at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Sullivan Galleries (November 13, 2010–February 12, 2011), and is intended as a companion piece to the catalog for that exhibition.

Printed on uncoated paper, with 'French fold' pages, this is a beautifully designed document that includes an interview with curators John Corbett and Jim Dempsey, as well as recollections by the artist's peers and students. Yoshida's own contemplative quotations combine with photographs of his home and the collected objects and ephemera that inspired his work to give a holistic impression of both the man and his milieu.
